MN Funeral Buddy
Licensed funeral homes from state records, your rights under the funeral rules, and a checklist for the first days. Free, with optional disclosed shop links.
This site is part of the Buddy Network, a collection of Minnesota consumer tools built by attorney Dan Swenson.
I am Dan Swenson, a data nerd who is also a Minnesota workers' compensation attorney and a city council member. I build these sites as a hobby to make public records, government rules, and license registries easy to find and use. The tools are free. The network pays for itself through disclosed referral links and a few optional paid guides.
More about why I build these
MN Funeral Buddy is an independent educational resource built by a Minnesota attorney. It is not a funeral home, not a law firm acting for you, and not affiliated with the Minnesota Department of Health. Nothing on this site is legal advice, and reading it does not create an attorney-client relationship.
Funeral home license information comes from the Minnesota Department of Health's public Mortuary Science licensing records. Each page shows the date we last checked the record. The MDH record controls; if something here looks wrong, check the MDH lookup or tell us.
No funeral home or retailer pays to appear here, to rank higher, or to be described a certain way. Some links on the buying-guide pages are referral links that may pay this site a commission; each is disclosed where it appears, the fee never changes the price you pay, and one printable binder is sold as a PDF. We will never cold-call a grieving family. Attorney advertising. Privacy policy.
